It was a hurtful loss last night. The Hillcat men fell short againt OBU. We started off slow and had a hard time catching up and regaining the lead. We played hard in the second half and held the bison to only 29 points, but we had a hard time geting our shots to fall. Our defense has picked up dramatically, now we just have to get back to scoring points the way we know how.
The Hillcat women played an awesome game defeating the Bison women and getting their second win in a row. Good job ladies!
We look forward to seeing all of you tomorrow afternoon at 3pm and 5pm when we tipoff against St. Gregory's. Thank you for the support and we love you.

RSU vs. OCU
RSU Lady Hillcats had a tough game. They played with confidence, heart, and a will to win, but OCU came out with the victory. OCU came into the game 12-0 and ranked number 1 in the country. They were a very tough team and our Lady Hillcats gave them a game to remember with the level of competition that they played with. Good job ladies!
RSU Men Hillcats played the game down to the wire. OCU held the lead just about the whole game and every time the Hillcats got close they pulled away again. We went in to halftime down by 8 points to a very strong OCU team. Our halftime talk was very intense. Coach laid it on the line and told us what we had to do to get back into the game. We came out in the 2nd half and played hard but still having trouble taking the lead. We cut the lead to 2 points and OCU pulled away again. Alex Ewings came in and gave us a spark hitting a 3 pointer from the wing and got the foul and turned it into a 4 point play. Kendrell Thompson scored 2 key baskets late in the game hitting a key 3 pointer and driving into the lane for a short pull up the very next play. 25 seconds left in the game, Hillcat ball, we were down by 2, Justin Ham brought the ball up the court passed to Alex who takes the 3. It hits the front iron goes up and falls in with 3.5 seconds left in the game. Time out OCU. OCU inbounds the ball and puts up a quick three which is tipped by Keeny Edwards and the Hillcat men win the game by 2. A very tough win. We played hard and never gave up or lost focus.

Robert Horry said "Pressure can burst a pipe or pressure can make a diamond." Coach Barkley said at halftime "When your backs are against the ropes you have a choice, either fold up and make it to the end of the round or come out swinging." You have to have a kill or be killed mind frame at all times, in everyday life. Either im going to fall to the pressure or attack it head on.

Tough Loss
It was a disappointing day for the Hillcats! Both teams played hard and both teams came up short when the time ran out. The Lady Hillcats played an awesome game and played their hearts out. Good job ladies! The Hillcat men, what can I say - we came out pumped and ready to play. We just didn't play hard enough. We gave up too many easy baskets and didn't finish the game out hard enough. A loss is already tough but its even harder to handle when its at home against a team we know we should have beaten. Losing puts a bad taste in your mouth, but don't sit in misery too long because one loss can turn into mulitple losses.

game day
Good morning Hillcat fans. Today is another big day for the Hillcat men and women. Today we face off against OBU at 3pm and 5pm at the Expo Center.
Conference play is always tough and the games are always played hard. The women tipoff at 3pm against OBU and we want all of you there to support our Hillcat women. They have been playing extremely hard but they fell short against St. Gregs on Saturday night. They will be fired up tonight and hungry for a win.
The undefeated Hillcat men face off against undefeated #3 OBU at 5pm. This will be a very exciting and physical game from the tip as we look to remain undefeated at home and our record unblemished. The Hillcat men come into today’s game ranked #5 in the country so both teams have a point to prove this afternoon. We are coming into the game with a chip on our shoulder
and an aggressive mindset to follow. We are the best at what we do and today we shall prove to the SAC and the country that we are the team to beat and whenever you come to play us you better bring your A game the whole game!

break!!!!!
Hillcat basketball is about to tipoff the second semester. We are all almost back from our Christmas vacations and got some much needed rest. The Hillcat men ended the first semester very strong, finishing 11-0 and 4-0 in conference ranked #5 in the country! We are very proud of our achievements so far this season but now it's time to get down and get back to business. This is going to be a very tough schedule ahead of us and we are preparing ourselves to put our best foot forward and come out strong.
Last week the Hillcat men played against the University of Houston. We played a very tough game. We went into the half up by three points. We came out in the second half and played very hard but we got down and just couldnt fight our way back into the game. Justynn Hammond played a very good game and finished with the game high 22 points.
We start practice tomorrow evening and have our first game back at St. Gregs on the Dec. 31 and then we have a home game Jan. 2 against OBU! We would like to see all of our fans at the game to support your Hillcats.

rsu men vs lubbock
this was a non-stop heart pounding game from the tip. this was probably our hardest test this year so far. lubbock came out prepared and ready to play on yesterday afternoon. just about the whole first half both teams kept trading baskets and there wasnt many defensive stops at all in the first half. the hillcat men went into halftime trailing lubbock 45-40. we kept our heads and stayed together because we knew what we had to do as a team. we knew where we fail short in the first half and what we slacked on and prepared mentally to do what we needed to do in the second half. the start of the second half wasnt how we expected it to be. instead of fighting back we saw ourself digging an even bigger hole and was down by 11 points halfway through the second half. through adversity true character presents itself!!!!! and thats just what happened! the hillcat men's true character presented itself and we dug deep and came together more than ever and we fought our way back into the game and tied the score with less than 5 minutes left. we played very tough defense and had very encouraging help from our bench and our fans. and at the end of the game the hillcat men came out on top winning the game 85-79. lubbock scored 79 points, the most points that have been scored on the hillcat men all season. next game is next saturday vs. john brown and we would like to see even more fans come out and show the hillcat emn some love as we continue a historic season! we love all our fans and we thank you for showing your support.

the hillcat women suffered a hurtful lost on yesterday vs the lubbock women. the hillcat women started off on a roll jumping out to a 17-3 lead in the first half but ended up going into halftime down on the score board. they came out playing hard in the second half but ended up falling just a little short as the game clock ran out. the hillcat women played a very hard game but was uable to finish the game out on top. we are very proud of our hillcat women and would like to thank everyone who came out and showed support and to those who watched and listened over the internet.
